Even at my work they’ve gotten into the conservation ethic to the point that we have an official Energy Conversation Program for the base. As far as I can tell, they exist solely to send out emails like the following:

This Holiday Season look for the “ENERGY STAR” label when shopping for electronic appliances. An “ENERGY STAR” appliance uses 10-50% less energy and water than standard models.
It’s not bad as far it goes: nice little tip, quick read. The problem is
that they are attaching a sizable (in this case 350k) Powerpoint that says exactly the same thing. The slide has a couple of pretty graphics, but really its only purpose to clutter up my mailbox and make me mad about wasted attachments. That detracts from the overall message and leaves a negative impression.
