In the spirit of using logic and facts

I support dropping the drinking age to 18 for everyone, not just the military folks. Unfortunately, some people don’t think we should do that especially for military members:
[Candy Lightner, the founder of Mothers Against Drunk Driving] added: “They will follow the leader, they don’t think for themselves, and they are the last ones I want to say, ‘Here’s a gun, and here’s a beer.’ They are not adult—that’s why they’re in the military. They are not adults.”
I assert that all members of MADD are actually coke-fiends who are jealous of the legality of booze.
that is one f-ed up woman, “they are not adults” where does she get that, oh yah and protecting us is just something little kids can do! i want the troops to have a beer and a gun damn it!!
Wow. I hope MADD looks at this as bad PR and cans her ass. I’m not too crazy about dropping the drinking age, but not for anything near the reasons she talks about. Crazy people like this give liberals a bad name.
I don’t think they can can her since she’s the founder of the whole thing. Of course, this requires that they think it’s a bad idea when it is quite clear that MADD would like nothing more than the return of Prohibition.
