I know nothing, nothing!

What follows is random, disjointed thoughts on things of a political nature. Click through only if you want some badly formed opinion.

Let’s start with some general criticism of the libertarians over at Reason. While I generally agree with their social commentary (“That government is best which governs least”), they seem to be living in a happy go lucky fairy tale world of international relations. The latest piece of snarkiness on that front regards the AF’s new cyberwar advertisement campaign. Yes, it’s poorly formulated and we probably paid far to much for it thanks to DC based Universal Management Badge generals, but the campaign points out a basic fact of life in the 21st century: we are fighting everyday in cyberspace at levels comparable to the Cold War. Reason casts this as a money-grabbing exercise by one branch of the services where it is in fact one of the places where the AF is taking the lead in the GWOT and beyond. Yes, us neanderthals can think beyond the current fight that we picked for no reason when we aren’t busy drooling on our keyboards. Their thought about any kind of cyberwar is as follows:

A poll on the home page asks “Do you believe cyberwar is a possibility?” At post time, 84 percent of respondents say “Yes.” Yikes.

Those fools! They think other countries have their self-interest above ours! WTH!

Fun time for the Democrats now. After so many years of controlling any narrative, the Clintons are finding out what happens when the rats see an escape vector. Of course, their annointed Messiah in the person of Barack Hussein Obama (more later) doesn’t know what he’s going to do beyond *flash* CHANGE! FOR AMERICA! YES! *wild applause* I’m not sure how that’s actually going to get us anywhere but that might be good. Obama is Clinton without the plan and drive to dominate but without the baggage as well. Everyone is jumping on the *flash* BANDWAGON! *flash* OF! *flash* CHANGE! *flash* to point of being sorry that they called his high school elitist.

Right, and how about the Return of the Mummy starring John McCain? He’s old as fuck, vindictive, mean, will do anything to get power, likes pretty young rich things, and is worshipped by the establishment (high priests) despite being “A rebel.” Where is Brendan Frasier when you need him? I think the entire lesson that I am getting from the end of the Bush Administration and the rise of the McCain candidacy is that someone was right when they said that – back in the day – the danger of the Democratic party swinging hard Left is that it will pull the Republican party to the center which was previously unthinkable. (Unfortunately, I have no idea who said that, just that it was after 9/11 and before the ‘06 elections.) As far as the Barack Hussein Obama thing, McCain likes to throw people under the bus… (I don’t care what you call Obama by his full name b/c, y’know, I have a functioning cognitive organ of my own and all it thinks about is Otter ;) )

Health Care. I’m not sure if Lee from RTLC even recognizes the dichotomy in the following statement:

Kill all federal Medicare programs, give the money to the poor in the form of insurance via a means-tested method of determining their need, then make private insurance mandatory.

What a horrible world that would be to live in, huh? One where the benevolent, warm arms or[sic] government weren’t wrapped around your every decision.

So the government is still taking the money and forcing you to buy insurance. How is that not the “warm, caring arms of government.”

Right now, my take on the presidential race can be summed up by the end of Reason’s liveblog of the latest Democratic debate:

America loses.

I now return you to the regular disjointed rambling on WoW and EVE as opposed to politics.

One Response to “I know nothing, nothing!”

  1. I’m old enough to be president now! Vote Naye in 08! My slogan is, “Can’t do any worse than others have.” (Btw, my middle name is Renee so please feel free to use it.)

I feel exactly the same way as the last time: Are these really the best people for the job?

A local dj had this to say about the election , “This is America where everyone is free to vote for whoever Oprah tells them to.”

    Hold me. I’m scared.
