G. I. Joe
I remember going to Toys-R-Us, drooling down the G. I. Joe aisle. They came packaged with so many awesome weapons. Fact is I liked the weapons more then the actual figures. Still, G. I. Joe was freaking awesome. I remember setting up blankets in piles, carefully placing the figures with their weapons, and shooting barrages of missile fire at my brothers position, trying to knock out all is guys before he got mine. Good times. Well, here’s an article I grabbed from drudge, f’ing PCDs (Politically Correct Dickhead). This is an outstanding article about why we shouldn’t forget what the some few men did for us and how PCDs are treating their memory now. GI Joe just a toy? I don’t think so. It used to mean something more.
I have two comments.
1) If they make GI Joe anything other than what he is, that’s just wrong. Why’s it bad for the US to have real men as heroes? blah. stupid.
2) The article is a bit misleading. GI Joe wasn’t made after Mr. Paige. He was simply one of the men they picked when they did a Classic Collection of GI Joes back in the 1990’s.
Freak everyone else! GI Joe is the all American Hero and should not be changed from that, who cares if people in other countries don’t watch it? what has happened to patriotism in this country? stupid people!!!
the two most important toys while growing up were GI Joes and Lego!! sounds like they are being pansies for making the movie “internationally” acceptable. some best known movies have a joe type character and everyone likes those.
paramount should grow some balls
That’s lame. They shouldn’t use GI Joe as a basis for the movie if they can only do a bastardization of it. They should just make the movie set in the 50’s or something, that way it’s under a fantasy pretense and they can do all of the pro-American stuff they want. And COBRA could be a commie organization, there was never anything wrong with showing them in a bad light.
That’s true Naye, but you also have to wonder how many people associated those toys with real people they knew. To me it’s like saying that whatever is made in America, be it Superman (Truth, Justice and the [Commie Pinko] way…) or GI Joe, is sh!t and we need to change it for “the global audience.” F’ that, the only reason every other country disparages us is because they wish they were us. Everyone hates the man on top unless they are the man on top. And screw setting it back in the 50’s. We have enemies today who are just as bad, if not worse, then the commies. OH NO! We can’t talk that way about THEM. Their the downtrodden. They just want to live in peace. Hyoork! Pardon my puke. We could use a good “GI Joe kicks terrorist ass” movie. I’d watch it, sh!t, I’d buy it.
if it had good acting and kicked some terrorist ass i would be into to buying too!!
