Patience

The waiting is the hard part. Eight months ahead of time, you work to craft the best picture you can in the small amount of space you have. Six years or more of work comes to ten lines, the only measure they have to look at you against your peers. Five months to go, and it’s out of your hands. It leaves your active thoughts, but sits there – lurking – in the back of your brain as you move homes and jobs. Before you know it, it’s there before you again.

The utter confidence you have that it will be this way – the way it should be – is tinged with doubt. Everyone you know knows your capabilities and excellence but how do the evaluators feel? Do they know the jobs? Do they know anything besides numbers that will change in a short time?

You just want to know. The last day is the longest when you’ve got your appointment and there’s nothing really going on in the office. What’s the decision? Did they waste their time moving your stuff and you across the country or was it just a little upset in the course of a long and successful career?

Sometimes, the answer comes today.

  1. Think happy thoughts and distract yourself! Go over to Wowhead and work on your PvP gear/build…

  2. Done that already.

It turned out good anyways. The waiting that is…
