As it tends to do, life has settled into that not-so-wonderful “just another day” rythm. It’s odd, you’d think it wouldn’t happen here, but it does. I find myself doing the same thing I did back at home, which is falling into the negative thought spiral of not knowing what I want. I hate it. I do have some random thoughts percolating in the back my mind, we’ll see if I translate them into actual words whether on paper or pixels I can’t say. Maybe one day I’ll be satisfied.

Maybe not.

In the meantime, I find articles on things I’m interested in and read gigantic link trails instead of thinking. Good to know my bad habits haven’t changed.

Well, I don’t post a lot, but I was doing some reading and I came across this story on FOXnews.com…
“Since 2003, coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent.”

Oops… I guess the media missed that one. Oh wait, I guess nerve gas doesn’t count as a Weapon of Mass Destruction anymore. Well, I’m glad to hear that. Now I don’t have to take apart my lab downstairs because I’m really only making condiments. Anybody for some mustard on their hotdogs?

That is, this seems to be shaping up to be a slow week. I received my tablet, which cemented my über-geekness in the minds of the entire group. A few of the “older” peeps in my chain actually asked about getting one since they are bonus-plus-good for CTS problems, so my influence is spreading.

Meanwhile, the AF supports Transformers: the Movie (LARP version) by dressing up as, get this, THE ARMY:

The Airmen played the roles of Army medivac troops and commandos for the DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures production at Hoover Dam outside Las Vegas. The movie is slated for release July 4, 2007.

Thanks for getting the AF out there guys, god know we don’t need a good movie to be associated with since the official AF movie is Iron Eagle…

Anyways, I have a sketch I’ll throw up (literally cough) on dA in a day or so. First playtime with the Graphire and all that shizz.

9 months in Morgantis ended with a hunger to see more and do more, go farther and push harder. I joined Silence to test my abilities, see what I had accomplished in the 9 months I had played and to raid. A year later, I log to see my best friends. The loot and the prestige doesn’t really make up for the crap I go through, but Cruzor, Dis, Grimmy Wimmy Dearest of Gnomiepies, and Moon (amongst a others not of the Silence persuasion ;)) do. I’d have gone nuts this year without them, and I don’t know what I will do without them when this all comes to an end.

So, I just want to dedicate this to them, because they love it when I get excited, they are never too grumpy/cranky to laugh with or at me, and they always try to (and usually do) turn my frown upside-down, they encourage, and suggest, and push me to go to places I wouldn’t go on my own, and make the journey with me: they make me think maybe, just maybe, someday I won’t have to ‘log on’ to be with my best friend.

Here is to my friends, who’ve seen me at my bitchiest and love me anyway.

Someone once told me “You’re perfect to me because you aren’t perfect.” muy impactante. With all my uberness AND shortcomings I am accepted. And I didn’t do anything but be my neeky self.

What a loss. Stupid fouls, no attacking strength AGAIN, letting the other team dictate when they have the ball. This entire World Cup experience for us was retarded. Arena has been good, but he needs to go. Other people’s words:

Not impressed with Johnson (our only threat in Game 1) being on the gd bench for the next two games. Lewis was poof f’n vapor, hell even Donovan could barely put together 10 solid minutes. Thanks Claudio Reyna for the “ouch I got hurt and that’s why they scored” act during the Ghana match. Man up, bitch. Stuff should have been broken in the locker room during halftime of the Ghana match, fires lit underneath peoples asses, hell maybe a few public executions. No motivation at all.

Overall, this was the most disappointing run I have ever seen. Sure we did better than France ‘98, but let’s face it we were still building back then. All we had to do was get past the first round for this to be a success, only crazy people expect us to win it all right now, but it would have been proof of progress. Instead, we’re slinking back home after getting punked in the ass yet again in Europe. So, let’s get a new coach who isn’t comfortable with the job, and make all the players requalify. Start from ground zero again. We have four years, so let’s make the most of them.

Soooo, the following is for the females and I guess the USMNT since they played like they were adoring fans instead of soccer players.

I just carried two Soldiers to the back of a C-130. They are starting their last journey home. It makes everything that we complain about in our daily lives, expecially back in the US, so fucking trivial.

No, that’s not the list of what I want to have at some point in my life. That’s the sacrifice list for good fortune in the World Cup today. Right now, we have a 20% chance of getting to the second round. There are a lot of problems to over come in order to do this though.

First, we have to win. A tie or a loss and we’re talking about choking yet again on the European stage. Quite frankly, I’m getting tired of playing strong games everywhere but in Europe, which we treat like it is a mens shower stall in prison. “Ooops, dropped the soap again!”

Next, just like in ‘02, we are depending on another game assuming that we win (where’d I let that brat run off to?). Italy must beat the Czechs in order for the US to have a good shot. If it is a tie, we have to go to goal differential with the Czech’s and we are at -4 right now. This means that we need to beat Ghana by 5 goals to go in over the Czech’s.

In our game, Ghana is missing two of their top offensive forces due to yellow cards. Hooray! Oh wait, we’re missing two of our top defensive forces due to yellow/red cards. Boo! The question is whether our offense can get off their asses and make something of playing in the opponents half of the field for a majority of the time and yet not have a single goal to show for it. (Own goals don’t count, bitches.) With a grand total of 2 shots on goal for two games, prospects aren’t looking too good against a very strong Ghana team.

Finally, where are our soccer hotties? We need some more luscious babe (NSFW :twisted:) support… (*cough* see below for other countries support…)

But, I’m going to be watching on the edge of my seat anyways to the very end. You’re not really a soccer fan until you’ve had your heart broken in a World Cup… Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go do my part for our success.

My tablet got shipped early this morning (Iraq)/late last night (US). I’m really looking forward to getting it as I have several drawings written out right now that I want to get sketched out.

I do have a couple of things that I did for a friend that may or may not see posting before next Feb, but we’ll see on those.

The stupid people have struck again. My first news sources is Drudge in the mornings and, while there are plenty of stupid people in print on a daily basis, today there was enough stupidity to make me want to write something. Normally, I can bury under the realization that many other people are already writing on it that are wittier, but it is time for a good spleenage.

First off, we have five teens killed in a shoot out in New Orleans. The stupid part:

The shooting left many people feeling unsafe in the poor Central City neighborhood where people sat on porches and discussed the incident Saturday.

“Hang on, we feel unsafe, so we’re just going to hang out here on the porch and chitchat.” Riiiight.

In the same area, the LA Times doesn’t want us to blame the victims for taking the money from FEMA and spending it on hookers.

It’s easy, and necessary, to criticize FEMA’s across-the-board incompetence in responding to the largest displacement of Americans since the Civil War. But obsessing about the spending habits of refugees comes perilously close to blaming the victim.

Hmmm, let’s think about this. On the one hand we have people who had to evacuate in the face of a natural disaster receiving aid. On the other hand, we have the people that take the free handout and run. The first people I am ok with referring to as “victims of Katrina.” But, guess what. Most of them are probalbly back in New Orleans, working to fix stuff. That second group aren’t victims, they are fucking parasites on all of us. Complaining about not getting free housing four plus months after a disaster and not looking for jobs in the local area makes you worthless in my book. Please kill yourself because obviously Nature missed its shot.

Finally, we have the Dixie Bitches:

“The entire country may disagree with me, but I don’t understand the necessity for patriotism,” Maines resumes, through gritted teeth. “Why do you have to be a patriot? About what? This land is our land? Why? You can like where you live and like your life, but as for loving the whole country… I don’t see why people care about patriotism.”

And that, you dumb cow, is why you will never ever be as accepted in American culture as you once were. If you can’t understand the simple need to be Americans together, in spite of our differences of opinion, maybe you should move somewhere else. I guess she does go to prove the stereotype of country as being inbred and dumber than a box of rocks.

While I’m off working on the weeknds, all kinds of cool stuff happens.

First, AFN got the rights to broadcast the remaining World Cup games. That meant I got to watch last night’s 1-1 draw with Italy live. Awesome! I got to chat with lilbro (Bolivia) from Iraq while watching a game in Germany. Small world or what?

Anways, the game itself. Overall, much better from a technical point of view for the US team. We had some brilliant ball movement, and maintained control of things even after our second(!!!) red card. The ref needs to be taken out behind a woodshed and beaten. In the words of a paid writer, he “began pulling out his red card like he was a six-year-old showing his favorite Christmas gift.” Both of our red cards were on late tackles which still managed to get a piece of the ball and the cards absolute BS. The goal in the 26th minute by the Azzuri was a huge knife to the back, and all I could think was “oh no, not again.” Our guys came back strong, and I have no doubt that even with just one red card on us we would have won the game. Kasey Keller was unbeliveable in the goal. And, as icing on the cake, Ghana beat the Czech’s 2-0. This puts us in a decent spot for moving on in that we know Ghana is dangerous, so no surprises there. The big question is whether or not Italy can muster enough to actually win the game against the Czechs as they are through to the second round with a win or a tie. We need a win against Ghana and a win by Italy over Czech Repulic to squeek through again with 4 points (It would be Italy (7 pts), US (4 pts), Czechs (3 pts), Ghana (3 pts) as final standings.)

Meanwhile, people are saying “As soon as Uruloki leaves…” At least, that’s how I feel sometimes. The guys back home in WoW had their first kill of Razorgore last night. Since I wasn’t there, he chose to drop clothie gear:
