Mindsets

It can sometimes be interesting to see how regional attitudes affect things as small as birthday cards. For example, when I was passing through SeaTac this morning, I found the following birthday cards (paraphrased):
Outside: [Picture of President Bush, holding up three fingers]: On this auspicious occasion, I would like to say three words…
Inside: Happy Birthday!
and
Outside: President Bush was planning a trip to China aboard his superfast Air Force One jet. He called up his secretary and asked, “How long does it take to get to China?” His secretary replied, “Just a minute, Mr. President…”
And President Bush said, “Wow, that’s fast!” Happy Birthday!
I suppose that a certain class of life’s rejects find those cards funny and piss away their money on them. I personally think it’s more a commentary on their intelligence than the President’s, but then, I’m not a Starbucks-swilling, designer-name wearing sheep that thinks buying snide cards is principled opposition. ‘tards.
