Self editing
Posted on April 21st, 2005 by uruloki
I just deleted/rewrote about half of my previous post. What was said was unneccessary and a cheap shot in a forum that some don’t even think about existing. My original screed reflects far too much time on my own, dwelling on negatives instead of positives. Yeah, that sounds like I’m getting all hippy on ya, “think on the positives,” but life is ups and downs, not just downs.
Peace out, mofo.
Hmm…not a big fan of editing to remove stuff rather than just adding to what was there; however, there are WAY too many negatives in life. Acknowledging them is one thing. Dwelling on them another.
pushes uruloki forward Keep it moving. No loitering!
umm…that doesn’t make me a hippy, does it? =/
What was there was inappropriate, and needed to be changed. I’m generally not a big fan of deleting what was written, but this time I am confident of my decision to simply rewrite what was there.
One of the perils and benefits of blogging is that it is only semipermanent. I can change something I have said and most people would be none the wiser. I don’t, as a rule, enjoy doing this. When it has to be done, I’ll do it, and I’ll call myself out on it.
And no, moving forward does not make you a hippy. Moving forward in a cloud of smoke
or thinking it’s going to be a flower lined path does.
