CoR - John Boy’s Chili
Posted on December 16th, 2004 by uruloki
Here’s a recipie from our last CFC Chili Cookoff. Next time, I’ll be putting up a slightly hotter chili.
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 green pepper chopped up
- 1/4 onion
- 1 Packet of “Chili-O” (find in the gravy section)
- 1 can Spicy Chili Beans
- 1 can Diced Tomatoes with Juice and Jalepeno
- RealLemon Juice
- Honey
- Barbeque Sauce
- Chili powder
- Black Pepper
Brown the beef, throw in the peppers, Chili-O, and Chili Powder, and barbeque sauce. Mix everything. Add the tomatoes and the beans. Mix about a 1/4 cup (total) of honey and lemon juice and microwave them so it’s all liquid. Add onions to the microwave mix, as well as some chili powder and the pepper seeds and black pepper. When the microwave mix tastes interesting enough, toss it in with everything else. Bring it all to a boil and then let it simmer overnight.
Recommended beer: Killian’s Irish Red.
