Let’s see if I can remember the trail: Slashdot -> Grimwell’s boards -> Slashdot -> N3rfed post -> N3rfed -> anyuzer post 1 -> N3rfed -> anyuzer post 2 -> anyuzer. All of it to do with the upcoming titans of MMORPGs, WoW and EQII.

All of the reading added two more links to the sidebar, and whole lot more information on WoW and EQII to the brain. Best analysis I have found of the Blizzard/Vivendi vs SOE release dates is in the anyuzer post 1 linked above.

The scene is a room. It’s a pretty bare room. A SECRET room even. In the room is a table. Not just a table though, no, a GOLD TABLE. A gold table with gold chairs, because one does not cushion the heinies sitting in them with anything less than 24 karat.

On the table is a board. A chess board. Also made of gold.

On either side of the board, two people sit. Their gazes locked, it is much a battle of the wills as it is the minds. On one side sits a guy in a t-shirt. The t-shirt states: “Money likes zerging Blizzard’s bank accounts”. His brow is furrowed in furious concentration. He is known as Blizz.

His job here is to kick ass.

On the other side of the table sits a long time game champion who is doing his best to look calm. Relaxed. Nonchalant even. His name is SOE. He’s not scared of the Blizz. Sure, they never seem to be beat at anything and hold a near perfect track record. Whatever, records can be broken!

In the corner, in a white and black pin striped shirt stands a man. The Man. The Man with the plan. The Vision. The Ref.

My new thoughts can be summed up as follows: WoW r0×0rs, EQII is ok (but SOE is teh suck), more reading every day = w00t!!
