USAFA vs. USNA

2032: Even though we steal the ball from Navy twice, we can’t punch it in. So Navy drives the length of the field and scores. Thats a losing formula.

2036: It looks like our offense is cracking. Get one or two good plays before the Navy D-Line just pwns our O-Line. Leads directly to the interception Cahney just threw.

2039: Herbstreet is predicting a huge play against our secondary, which has always been a weakness. At least we just stopped them on 3rd and 9. Navy has bad kicker, so we’ll see if they go for it. 4th and 10. Going for it. Completes a flippin LOB pass for 11 yards. dang it. OMW. stupid secondary can’t even tackle to stop a 15 yd run. Now they are just pushing the fullback straight through. Penalty against Navy on the goalline, 5 yd cushion. Back down to the 1. TD. we suck

2053: Our best plays are passes, but General DeBerry won’t recognize that. “Up the middle, up the left, pass.” Cahney just hung onto the ball too long. Yes, now we are just pissing away our timeouts, barely got the 1 yd on 4th down. 26 seconds left. Throw it AWAY! Now, not to the damn other team…

2126: 2nd Half, we give up a huge runback on the kickoff. Fortunately, we force 3 and out…

2128: Our ball again, lets get some points biznatches. Getting an illegal block called on you is not the way to do it. Passing is a good idea, except you have to catch the ball when you are wide open. Maybe it’s ‘cos our WRs/TEs spend so much time blocking for the run… run run run punt. Or not, thanks Navy for roughing the kicker. Guess we can do it right once or twice. FOLLOW YOUR BLOCKERS. 3rd and inches. Fullback punch. $%#@%$#@%#$@#$ Stupid Carney, 14 yd loss. And he picks up 19, we are just schizo. Holding against us is BAD. And now we hold again. 3rd and 24. Look out for the surprise RUN UP THE FUCKING MIDDLE. Our fullbacks are averaging 4 yards a run and you send them up the middle? DeBerry, you are an ass.

2144: We’ve got them back inside the 20. Holding on Navy is nice. We just got gypped on a clear fumble. Looks like we are holding them to 3 and out.

2150: Run to the left. Run to the middle. Sack. Beats DeBerry doll with stick

2155: We’re sticking them again. 3 and out, with some good tackling this half. Now if the offense could just give our defense a rest by moving the ball and scoring…

2157: Nice line drive punt, 63 yards according to the heads. YES YES NOOOOOOOOO. Long bomb, no hands. OMW, they actually passed on consecutive downs. Nasty sack to close out the third quarter. Overthrown ball to open the 4th. Run up the middle on 3rd and long. Herbstreet says they have to stop asking why they aren’t passing on the long thirds, and thinks AF is basically waving the white flag on those downs and trying to play field position.

2204: Navy is going to try and run the clock down on us. We’ll how well they can do that with 14 min left… Good D cut off on the pitch left. Batted the ball down on 3rd down, squids punt again. We get a much better runback.

2209: Let’s see what we do with good field position, starting at our 45. 1st down pass for 8 yds. Cahney runs for 3 and 1st down. 4yd lateral. Fullback up middle, 4yds again. #$^$# Huge loss, what’s the flag, please be on the D… sumbiatch. chop block on O. 4th down.

2215: Looks like the D is coming through again, we’ll see if it matters at all. Whew, close call, good pressure but they almost allowed a long pass to go for first down.

2217: The Navy punter is a f’n BEAST. Pins us inside the ten. Run left for short yardage. Cahney for almost a first, 3rd and short. Fullback to get the 6 inches. WE’RE SO LUCKY!!!!! Cahney just threw into the tightest double coverage I have ever seen, and our guy snagged it. Another throw on 1st, 8 yards. Run into the end zone, we need the 2 point conversion to tie. MADE IT, cadinks are going nuts, as are we!!!!!!

2226: Navy underthrows on first down, would’ve gone for long yardage. Sweet, 9/10 yard sack on 2nd down. Damnit. 66 yard pass. :( Fullback for 9 yards. Fullback, close to first down… 1st and goal. Fullback went on four legs to pick up 4 yds. 2 more yards up the middle. Walks it in on the right side. Navy regains lead, 21-14. 4:15 to play.

2235: Kickoff. Touchback. Throw on 1st, goes for 1st down. Fullback runs for 10. Fullback stopped. Flip pass for 16 yards. Option left for 7 yards, he gets out of bounds to stop clock. Cahney rolls right, passes for another first down. Pass to the left, Messerall catches it (he’s been the workhorse), but he’s hurt, looks like his knee got mad torqued during the tackle. 1st down, but a weapon is gone. Waller catches the pass up the middle for a TD!! 21-21, 2:21 to play.

2245: Incredible shot of dorky Navy middy, sucks to be him… Navy gets the ball on their 25. Throws for a first on the 40. %$^#, Navy runs it up the flippin middle to the AF 29. Fullback then to 16. Runnning it into the middle of the field for the kicker. Please let him miss, he’s 0-4 this year….. We’re trying to ice him by calling timeout at the last possible second… Cadinks are doing the “AIR…. FORCE….” chant…. They’re lining up again, we nail him with a time out. sticks a pin in the voodoo doll Maybe we won’t call time this time to psych him out? FUCK. He made it.

I’m going to go drink. TWO consecutive losses to the freaking squids.

Fans aren’t allowed opinions

At least, that’s the idea I get from the subtitle on an MSNBC article about the Vote for Change Tour.

Stars risk the wrath of partisan fans with Vote for Change tour

The article is actually ok, analyzing some of the pros and cons of doing politcal tours instead of straight music. It also acknowledges that in most cases, the rockers are preaching to the choir:

Indeed, the Vote for Change Tour might provide gathering spots for the like-minded, but it’s doubtful it will convince undecided voters to select John Kerry or to vote against George W. Bush. The vast majority of fans who buy tickets to these concerts will do so because they already agree with Springsteen & Company’s stump speech, and are willing to fork over their hard-earned green to support the cause. It’s the “Fahrenheit 9/11” Syndrome — the congregation is already devout.

One thing I didn’t like about the article was the way that the survey in the sidebar was worded.

  1. This is America. They are free to voice their opinions. – 45%
  2. I might not agree with their views, but that would not stop me from buying one of their albums. – 7%
  3. If I disagree with their views, I would be less likely to buy their music. – 17%
  4. Just shut up and play the music. – 31%

Specifically, I don’t think that 1 and 3 are exclusive. They have a right to voice their opinions (1), and I have the right to voice my opinon by not buying their music (3). Of course, I am a big fan of 4 as well, but some spoiled rich moronspeople seem to think that their opinion is the only one that matters and that we’re all idiots for caring about actual leadership in a time of war.

Underage drinking

And to think that as a homeschooler, I had to content myself with stealing Dad’s beers. I agree with the kids though, tequila is not very good tasting

Edit: In response to the commenters, sure, if I want to get flat wasted, tequila is ok, but it is too damn quick. I’d rather enjoy the entire bottle of Peppermint Schnapps/Goldschlager/Bailey’s/Bacardi with hardly any hangover than start getting sick before I’m even done the drunk. Soju is a pretty FYUD too…

Moore Linking

Sometimes the stuff you can find on Google when searching for keywords is just priceless. Take the Emperor’s search for Michael Moore for example. He found a publicity photo for Moore… This means at some point, someone on the web linked that picture under the heading of “Michael Moore.” Good ol’ Google.

The best part of the Google search for that particular term is that after his home page, some of the top entries are MooreWatch.com, MichaelMooreHatesAmerica.com, MooreLies.com, and MooreExposed.com. I help by linking MooreWatch every time I refer to Moore.

Damn spam

I am currently getting a lot of comment spam from various assholes. I am debating whether or not to save the comments and send them a bill for each entry. I figure $5 an ad, since it is my website and I can set whatever rates I want, right?

No updates

And by that I mean no more pictures. Currently down to 2 days until I have to leave Otter again, and since we may not get to see each other over the holidays, it is very rough. I’ll have more pisc on Sat/Sun, when I get home.

Oh yeah, and no Korean Magic for me since we couldn’t find the location after wandering around Dobong-Gu for several hours.

First Command?

I was just looking throught the Sitemeter logs, and apparently I managed to score some hits from the FirstCommand.com domain itself. That’s me, striking at the coporate overlords… :)

Pics

As promised, here’s the first batch of pics. They cover Tuesday and Wednesday, the trip up to Odaesan National Park. [Read more →]

Pics coming

Prolly tomorrow morning. Tons of pics from Odaesan (Odae Mt) and downtown Seoul. Tomorrow, we’ll get some from Domdaemung and Myeongdong too.

RHPS

Whenever you visit someone overseas, they always have a list of stuff to bring from the “Gran Bodega del Norte.” In Otter’s case, the number one thing on the list was our copy of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. When I saw a brand new DVD copy at Best Buy for 10 bucks, which included all kinds of goodies on it, that’s what I brought. As we were watching it, we realized that RHPS is our number one movie. What kind of couple has RHPS number one on the list? Us, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
