The Color of Air America: White

Once upon a time, the liberals, complaining of media bias (forgetting they have NYTimesCNNBCBSABCMSNBCNewsweekTimes, etc) decided to launch a radio network. Launching on 31 March 2004, the Air America network was dedicated to one purpose, beating President Bush in November. Of course, they had to do this in order to look out for the little guy, like oppressed blacks and Asians, as part of the party platform.

In order to get their message out though, they need radio stations. Since they are the appointed guardians of political correctness, this made it perfectly ok, good in fact, to displace successful black and Asian radio personalities. In NYC, it was “Black Talk,” now it’s “White man telling the black man what’s good for him talk.” In SanFran, one of the most liberal markets in the US, where you would expect at least one major radio station to sign up, you have the complete opposite. A 1kW station in Berkely is the main outlet, with the major 50kW stations taking a pass. It’s not like anyone important to the latte-lovers will be hurt, seeing as it’s a Korean-Chinese radio station.

Yep, always looking out for the little guy.

The myth of Striesand as semi-intelligent

Noted singer liberal Barbra Striesand penned another statement the other day, this time addressing “The Myth of Bush as Hero.” Unfortunately, Babs lead with her nose this time, so bad that even I can fisk her.

Finally … finally we can talk about what’s really going on. Rather than accept the myth that 9/11 turned President Bush into a “hero” … former counterterrorism expert Richard Clarke has bravely spoken out to tell us the real story – that Bush did not treat terrorism as an urgent issue. And that going to war in Iraq, in addition to tragically costing us so many lives, has diverted money and resources away from where they should have been focused – on dismantling al Qaeda and strengthening our homeland security.

Damn it, who said she could be unmuzzled? Of course, now that we can “finally” talk about what’s going on, we’re going to get an examination of how Clinton fucked American national interests even worse than the interns, right? Oh wait, my bad, IT’S BUSH’S FAULT. Sorry, forgot the meme that she’s dedicated to pushing, even more than her crappy caterwauling.

I’d really like to see how we haven’t been discussing “what’s really going on” over the last three years. I’d also like to know how the “counterterrorism expert” is telling the real story, when there was even less done during the Clinton administration, where he held far more responsibility.

I also take issue with the “so many lives” that she seems to be concerned about. I say seems because she certainly didn’t have a problem with our troops dying to save the Somalis and the Bosnians and the multitude of other places where we went (under Clinton) to prevent the same kind of tragedy that was being carried out every day in Iraq. Working… or not

So I have spent the entire day trying to make this dang CSS(link) (Cascading Style Sheets) stuff work. I figured out how to do my borders with rounded corners and all that good stuff, but putting it all together into a single page is turning into the biggest pain in the ass…

If you want to look at what I’ve got so far, the latest version is here. As you can see, as of this writing there are artifacts at the bottom left hand corner that I am tired of trying to get rid of for today. The issue is that this is actually a better solution than I had, where the bottom pieces would not match up with the left sides of the ArticleLongContent div and the right side of the ArticleBody div. SO, now I at least have a completed frame, I just need to shave off that little bit…

The secret button

crosses fingers I swear that the attached image is true and not doctored in any way. Like in Photoshop. Who has Photoshop anyways? Ummm, my crack team of insane pirate ninja monkeys found this and I had to post it. I’d post some of their other work, but I like to pretend to be good, and posting pictures of Dems covered in feces (they are monkeys) probably wouldn’t be appropriate.

Calling it like it is

I love it when someone calls a politician what they are. In an article for Townhall, Neil Cavuto has a line almost as good as Jonah Goldberg’s “festering crapweasel.”

I heard some insipid questioner asking Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld that we owed it to those who lost their lives that we learned something from this.

Learned something from this?! You must be kidding!

Americans know that. Americans appreciate that. And more than any other people on this planet, Americans are doing their best to never repeat that. It’s a pity the ass who was grandstanding sounding prosecutorial couldn’t leave his pumped-up pedestal long enough to see he was sounding . . . pathetic.

Emphasis mine.

No posting today

So I’ll leave you with the comment I left on Blackfive’s site on what game to get next:

Besides replaying Halo for the millionth time, and sacrificing small children for Halo 2 to come out faster, I am playing the following:

1. Ninja Gaiden – this game is simply insane. The difficulty level is pretty high, with the learning curve looking like a cliff until about half way through the game, but decapitating your opponents on your way to more opponents rocks. Plus, it is the prettiest game I have ever seen.

2. Crimson Skies – Great storyline and awesome aircraft, with awesome multiplayer. One of my friends hates play FPSs multiplayer (it’s not my fault, I swear!), but even he’ll play this. I may be biased since I’m AF, but this is my favorite air combat game on a console.

3. Knights of the Old Republic – I tried to be a good Jedi, but somehow ended up on the Dark Side. Darth Vader would be proud. The game is huge with multiple paths to complete any mission and the ability to become a Jedi, whether light or dark. Massive replay ability.

4. Metal Gear Solid 2 – the daddy of stealh action games. Very linear, but make sure you can find a hiding spot when you double-tap the wrong guy.

5. Unreal Tournament 2003 – no storyline, just all out mayhem. Need some friends with ‘boxes, but it’s worth it.

My goal today

I am going to beat Ninja Gaiden. ‘nough said.

Edit: 3.5 hours later, mission accomplished.

Huge fine for M$, leftists everywhere rejoice

Via Slashdot, comments on the EU decision to fine Microsoft $613M. An large number of posts are either about how this “is a good thing, since George W. Bush prevented them from being punished here in the US.”

“What is often forgotten is that most competitors of MSFT are also US companies, so to limit MSFT’s monopoly would harm one US company, but benefit a lot of others many of which are also US companies.

So, the economic balance does not explain the US failure to correct this economically damaging condition, there must have been another reason. Probably plain old bribes, or just stupidity from the part of the Bush government to see the economic benefit to have sound markets with sound competition.”

“The EU will very likely stick to its guns. The only reason why the US didn’t begins with ‘W’.”

“The US DoJ looked set to implement a proper solution just a few years ago, but the election of President Bush put an end to that.”

Well, guys, its getting kind of confusing. Which companies are paying for the Bush presidency? I was pretty sure about Halliburton, but they’re in Microsoft’s pocket too? I sure am glad that there is nothing like that over in the EU, what with current EU members having the same corruption numbers as the countries that want to join (but they’re more concerned about the new peeps). Good thing that they have independent investigations over there too… It might also help if you pointed to some actual proof as to payments changing hands. Sure, you can keep blaming everything on Bush, but I can say that John Kerry is a Venusian and have it be a valid point with the amount of proof that you provide for your assertions. [Read more →]

I’m screwed

Judging by the previews of just the alpha, when WoW comes out I’ll need a new comp AND broadband. I am so screwed…

100 days of doom

Well, I could say that the first 100 days of a John Kerry presidency would be a complete and [un]mitigated disaster and leave it at that, but it is too true and too sad for anyone to get a laugh over. SO, here’s what I think those 100 days would be like.

  • During inauguration speech, denounces Vietnam War as a “vicious act of American imperialism,” apologizes. Later, has to issue statement clarifying position on Iraq.
  • Declare French to be official language of Administration, prepare statements which take as many sides as possible in any debate.
  • Hold a Botox party for his largest contributors in the Lincoln Bedroom.
  • Grant the Heinz company exclusive food-service rights in all government cafeterias: Now serving ketchup! Lots of ketchup! Maybe some bread to go with the ketchup, but mostly ketchup!
  • Reassign the Secret Service agent “son of a bitch” who “made him fall” to guard the new White House dog, a French poodle. The poodle’s codename? John…
  • Declare Benedict Arnold national hero for “his foresight, nuance, and sophistication in try[ing] to take both sides of the American Revolution.”
  • Replace George Washington on the one dollar bill with Arnold for the previous reason and the fact that Washington didn’t work hard enough on building a coalition with an international mandate.
  • Congratulate Washington for working with the French; leave his name on the Washington Monument for that reason.
  • Refer’s to Clinton definition of sex to say that “yes, I had sex with that woman” while saying “I did not have sex with that woman.”
  • Raise taxes on the “Evil Rich,” with contributions to the Democratic party being counted as deductions at 10:1 ratio.
  • Change the salute of the US Armed Forces from the “winner” style to the “loser” style employed by French Army.

I thought that I’d end up dividing the first 50 days from the second 50 days, but it turns out that he has enough to do flipping the country to the wrong path after 200+ years of progress.

Edit: I left so many gd prefixes and suffixes off in this post, I should be shot.
