Politics the way I like ‘em
Over at Allah is in the House, there is an outstanding series of political stories of the conflict between the current ass-enders in the Democratic primaries. They are absolutely must reads for anyone, unless you happen to actually be a Deanie Baby. Part I leads into Part II, per the standard numbering format.
What I think is interesting is that he thinks the effort is “intellectually, [...] on par with ‘Jackass’.” I would have to disagree since ‘Jackass’ doesn’t take any intellect to develop or shoot. Bob Sagat had a whole career highlighting people who did stuff like that on accident, and all ‘Jackass’ does is go out there and get hit in the nuts on purpose. On the other hand, coming up with funny, topical captions for random pictures can be a pretty hard task. Seriously, look at the efforts on Fark and see how many of them are stretching to try and be funny. Sure, you’ll run into some funny things, but they are usually from people who a) have the gift of being funny or b) have practiced and know their audience.
Update: make sure it says “Publish” before wondering what’s going wrong with the blog…
