2 days later…
Otter and I watched 28 Days Later… on Saturday night. Overall, we thought it was a good take on a zombie movies, with some interesting takes on some things. For instance, I loved that it was the fault of ecoterrorists that an entire nation was wiped out. Stupid ELF/ALF/PETA f’ckers.
One item that we noticed was a different approach to self defense taken by the Brits. I can only assume that this is somehow bred into them now, with their restrictive guns laws, but the heroes of the movie always seemed to forget about the highly effective guns that were lying all over the place, especially at the end. Now, they did take weapons, but never the guns, and it was always the first thing we would have grabbed if we were in the same situation. Baseball bat or gun? Sure seems like a gun keeps the Infected far away from me… Oh well, I’ll enjoy my Second Amendment very much thanks.
I also liked the ending, where the SgtMaj’s ramblings are confirmed and they find out that they (the island) were quarantined off from the rest of the world. That’s a great deal of Leftists and ecoterrorists that won’t be bothering us any more. 
Overall, we both enjoyed the movie, but it wasn’t buy/in-theater view worthy.
